Pureblast

New name, same power: Pureblast (formerly known as Baraka) channels the explosive and contagious energy of the duo into an uncompromising live act. At the crossroads of the new punk-electronic movement, their music fuses powerful vocals, percussive beats, aggressive basslines and synth layers influenced by dance music, progressive trance, hard-hitting cold electronic sounds, techno, and industrial rock — a hybrid sound that reveals its full power on stage.

Formed in Vienna in 2020 during lockdown by Cristofeu (DJ & producer) and sa+ga (DJ, singer, author), the duo quickly found its unique voice. Their first 7-track EP (2022) impressed with its maturity. In 2024, they released Psycho, a rock-infused EP shaped for live performance with raw intensity, drawing inspiration from Prodigy and Underworld.

On stage, Pureblast transcends genres and spaces: capable of transforming a concert hall into a dance floor or building up a club's energy to the level of a punk show, the duo adapts seamlessly to each venue, delivering audiences an immersive and cathartic experience and offering a whole new way to party. Their live performances have already set fire to venues such as Berghain/Panorama Bar (Berlin), RSO (Berlin), C12 (Brussels) and festivals like Nuits Sonores (Lyon, Brussels), Positive Education (Saint-Étienne), Draaimolen (Tilburg), Peacock Festival (Paris), Pitch Festival (Australia), and Transmusicales (Rennes).

This is just the beginning for the band, whose cathartic, futuristic music is likely to echo long into the night. As anyone who has experienced Pureblast knows: with a sound like this, this is only the duo's first detonation. A new series of singles, set to be released throughout the year, brings fresh energy in a more aggressive and minimal form and some of their most personal and authentic works, fully reflecting the spirit of the duo and their live performances.

While Pureblast is a duo born for the stage, their roots remain deeply anchored in DJ culture. Behind the decks, Cristofeu and sa+ga unleash the same restless energy as in their productions, channeling it into intense and unpredictable DJ sets.

Their selections fuse percussive techno, deep progressive trance, tech house, as well as rave and hard-edged electronic sounds into high-voltage journeys. To enrich their club sound, Pureblast are putting together a series of dj-oriented EPs—carefully crafted tracks and capsules of progressive trance, techno, and percussive sounds, offering DJs fresh material and reflecting the duo’s genuine love for club culture.
