Project BC

Project BC is an Indigenous metal band from Albuquerque, New Mexico. The band was
established in 2018 and played their first show in 2019. Their debut single “One Last Time” released in
2019, accompanied with a music video that centered on finding strength after encountering domestic
violence. In 2020, they had plans to tour and play shows locally but the pandemic had different plans
for them. They used this time to strategize and work on writing new music. They would not return to
the stage again until September 2021 for the release of their debut EP, "Dance of the Lycans," which
included their second single “Show Me What You Got.” After their EP release show that same year,
their singer, Masheyti Romero, would find herself unable to perform due to health concerns. The band
then went back to the writing block, and did what they could behind the scenes. After a little more than
a year of silence and recuperation, the band returned in February of 2023 and hit the ground running.
With the multiple unintended breaks, the band grew more determined to not let hardships deter them
from pursuing their dreams. Their second EP, "Black," released in June of 2023, garnered the attention
of new fans and delivered the dose of BC that they were waiting for. They recently have been featured
on several radio stations including, Rez-olution Radio, KUNM radio, KMHA radio, Alien X Radio,
Tunes from Turtle Island Podcast, and Overdrive KYAY radio. Their long awaited third EP, fittingly
called "The Third" released in April of 2025 which included their third single “God of Everything.” When
asked what their 2025 plans are for promoting “The Third,” the band stated "We just want to tour.
Being on stage and playing our music in front of new people is what we've always wanted to do." To
date, Project BC has played over 50 shows in 8 states. They want to expand the states played in, to at
least 20 by the end of 2025. They have opened up for In Flames and Havok, and recently Adema at
the Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles on June 5, 2025.

When they are not touring or playing music, they are planning their annual Cat-alyst Music Festival. With a primarily Indigenous and NM-local band line-up, they use their festival as an opportunity to help other bands expand their portfolios and booking opportunities. They have previously stated that, "If we can help at least one band get to that next step and not have them give up on their dreams, then that's what we are going to do."
