About Riding With Killers
Riding With Killers (RWK) is a Detroit-based Hard Rock trio bringing a fresh and unique take on Alt, Rock, and Metal. Led by (Taproot guitarist) Taylor Roberts, RWK’s sound is a fusion of past experiences fronting and writing for multiple successful Rock and Metal outfits, a fiery mix of 90’s alt-rock, industrial, and nu-metal, balanced with infectious choruses, memorable guitar riffs, and refreshing power-pop sensibilities.
Currently making waves with their debut album FULL CIRCLE produced by Matt Laplant (Taproot, Nonpoint), tracks like/
“DNA,” “Novelty,” and “Hostility”, are rapidly racking up radio spins and streams on digital outlets, premiering in 2023 with a feature from influential Rock magazine OUTBURN, and spawning major press including The Detroit News, Screamer, NEW Noise, and many more.
Riding with Killers formed in 2018, rising from the ashes of Roberts' former projects Cathercist and Wild Fire, which both built strong regional, and national, success amassing a huge following and performing at major shows and radio festivals throughout the South, Midwest, and Gulf Coast, alongside the likes of Atreyu, Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for my Valentine, Papa Roach, All That Remains, Evanescence, Halestorm, Hell Yeah, Filter, Volbeat, Alter Bridge, Chevelle, Motorhead, and many more, before relocating to Detroit to form RWK, after meeting Sponge (and former Taproot) drummer Dave Coughlin on tour in 2013 while opening for Taproot.
The pair linked up for co-writing with friends Tim Krukowski (ex-Sponge), producer Matt LaPlant, and James Lascu (ex-Wilson), which resulted in the debut RWK single "Hostility", mastered by LaPlant at Madtown Mix Studios in Madison, WI.
Shortly thereafter, Roberts permanently relocated to Detroit, where he continued to build RWK, and was quickly recruited as guitarist in the newly reformed lineup of Nu-Metal/Alt-Rock legends TAPROOT, performing across the US in support of their 2023 album SC\SSRS, including major festivals including Sick New World, Louder Than Life, Welcome To Rockville, Aftershock, Sonic Temple, and more, with upcoming 2025 appearances at Inkcarceration, RockFest, and Upheaval, even performing double duty, with RWK opening shows for Taproot, including sold out shows at Flint's legendary Machine Shop.
When not destroying stages with Taproot, Roberts continues full steam ahead with RWK, rapidly becoming a major attraction in the national Hard Rock scene. The band has already shared stages with a literal who's-who of Rock and Metal artists including 3 Doors Down, Seether, Tremonti, Sevendust, Trivium, Parkway Drive, 10 Years, Nonpoint, and tons more, and quickly becoming an attraction all their own. The band recently headlined Houston's H-Town Metal Fest (with fellow Michiganders HEARTSICK) with a full schedule for 2025 including upcoming performances at Rock Lansing, and shows with Saliva, Ayron Jones, Narcotic Wasteland, (hed)pe, and more.
