Cold Sludge

Founded by Richard Rossi, Cold Sludge started as a solo project, many songs of which started with his "One Song a Week" challenge he put on himself. Learning to work in time constraints, Richard learned how to get creative and found that even cereal boxes can be an instrument (see Mailer (Page 36) from Motor Oil for Yr Mind)). It's this sort of creativity that defines Cold Sludge to this day. Using analog tape for recording, and reading a Jeff Tweedy book or two, Richard has found a lot of inspiration in working within constraints and letting impurities be a part of the sound.
Today, Cold Sludge is a group of 5 musicians who bring inspiration from many different places to turn Cold Sludge's live experience into a proper show. Each member is inspired by various genres such as noise rock, funk, electronic music, hardcore and jazz.
