About Emberthrone
Sacramento based progressive metal outfit Emberthrone has dropped their hauntingly introspective new single “Dulling the Blade”, available today on all major streaming platforms. The track marks the first taste of their forthcoming EP, Cursive, due out July 4, 2025 on Seek and Strike Records.
Featuring an all-star lineup, Emberthrone brings together Martin Bianchini, guitarist of Dance Gavin Dance, and Andrew Baird, drummer of All Shall Perish and formerly of Fallujah, along with longtime collaborators Monte Barnard (vocals) and Quentin Garcia (Bass), creating a volatile and captivating chemistry.
“This is my favorite song Martin and I have ever written together,” says frontman Monte Barnard, a veteran of the metal scene known for his work with Thy Art Is Murder, Alterbeast, and Bleed the Sky. “Martin and I go back almost 20 years, and Quentin has been with Emberthrone since day one, their writing has shaped the core of our sound. Bringing in Andrew on drums took things to another level. ‘Dulling the Blade’ explores how we cope with the weight of daily life, sometimes in healthy ways, and sometimes through self-destruction. It’s about the things we think are helping us, but may actually be making things worse.”
“Dulling the Blade” blends raw emotion with technical prowess, offering a powerful preview of what’s to come on Cursive, a release that promises to further cement Emberthrone’s status as a rising force in modern metal.
