new confusion was born in the wrong time but wouldn't have felt at ease in any era that came previously. Torn between the beats of the '50s/'60s and the sub-terra of the '80s/'90s, they combine the Grateful Dead, Sun Ra, Velvet Underground and the Allman Brothers Band's explorations of the musical subconscious hive-mind with sonically modern influences such as Einsturzende Neubauten, This Heat and Sonic Youth to deliver a hurricane-force interpretation of the modern day that is equal-parts chaos and sentimentality. Some have called it no-wave. They call it ecstatic-rock, but in truth they're a group that cannot be placed neatly into a box.
