City String Ensemble

City String Ensemble is a multi-genre string quartet and ensemble based in London, UK. Originally formed at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, CSE has gone on to grow from a highly sought-after string quartet to a full-scale string orchestra and can be seen regularly performing multiple programmes of “candlelight concerts” across London, as well as recording, releasing and performing their very own classical versions of songs from modern culture, culminating in over half a million streams on Spotify alone, so far.

Since 2016, they have been performing across London and the UK, establishing themselves as the ensemble of choice for many award ceremonies, celebrity parties and special events, including the world premiere of Bridgerton Season 2 in London.

Known for their more informal approach to performances compared to typical classical concerts, CSE are committed to performing in a more accessible and engaging way, redefining the traditional concert experience and in turn, exposing new audiences to classical crossover performances.
