About morèl

morèl
morèl
There’s something nocturnal about her voice: as if she sings for those who cannot sleep. And yet, morèl prefers to write in the quiet of early mornings, when only the city speaks in whispers.

It’s not just her voice that offers comfort. It’s her storytelling that draws you in. Where others shy away from the unknown, morèl picks up her brush and paints worlds that feel both strange and familiar.

Her lyrics are raw in their honesty, yet always steeped in poetry. The melancholy doesn’t just linger, it forms the very foundation of her songs.

That siren-like voice, fragile yet layered, is carried by guitar lines that echo the sounds of Tamino or Jeff Buckley. Her sound is distinct, unmistakably shaped by the flamenco that has run like a red thread through her life since childhood. Joined on stage by guitarist Nadine Rypkema, she invites you on an intimate journey through her inner world.

Her music has already reached listeners through national Dutch radio (NPO Radio 2), and this July, morèl presented her own show at Amsterdam’s iconic Tolhuistuin: a milestone that marks her growing presence as a live artist.

morèl sings as if the night understands her in ways the day never could.
