Yufu

Yufu is an emerging Soul and Funk musician who finds his muse in the classic 70s sound. Residing in both Taiwan and Japan, he stands out as one of the rare Asian soul musicians who craft original tracks while honoring the legendary figures of the soul genre. In a world increasingly dominated by digital and artificial influences, Yufu is dedicated to producing a warm sound that evokes the essence and atmosphere of the sensual soul music of the golden era.

Raised on Motown and psychedelic melodies, he developed a deep affinity and unexplainable love for soul, funk, and R&B music, particularly from icons like Curtis Mayfield, Willie Hutch, Barry White, and Eddie Kendricks, to name a few.

Yufu independently launched his first EP, "To My Pen Pal," on June 29, 2021. Following this, he was invited to participate in a live session project at the renowned Yuchen Studio in Taipei. This session was made available on both YouTube and Spotify in November 2023.

Yufu's first full-length album, "Heal Me Good," is scheduled for release on January 24, 2025 under Zip Records, based in Amsterdam. Through his recordings and live shows, Yufu aims to revive the essence of 1970s rhythms, melodies and grooves for audiences in 2025 and beyond.
