About Oïkoumen

Oïkoumen
Oïkoumen
Oïkoumen is a progressive symphonic metal band founded by Elie Veux, on guitar and composition, and Laura Mazard on vocals and lyrics in 2017. Yaël Febvray joined the adventure in 2019 as a bass player and synth programmer. Julien Prost completed the team as the orchestral programmer and mixer in 2023.
The band released in 2020 its first EP, Oïkoumen, in a classic symphonic metal spirit with orchestras and historical subjects with some epic vibes. The song Deus Vult was also re-released as a rearranged single in 2023. However, with the single The Green Queen and the work made on the first album Dystopia, the band turned to a more raw and dry aesthetic. The lyrics became more explicit and engaged. This shift anchors the band in a progressive symphonic metal style, maintaining the orchestral aspect while including a more incisive and tense aesthetic. An aesthetic broken by the last single Impulse which transmits a more positive energy and larger orchestras which are to be expected in the album II currently being written.
