At just twenty years old, musical prodigy Gala Dragot has already reached remarkable milestones. Her music soundtracked the FW26 Dries Van Noten Women's show, where she sat front row alongside Celeste and heard her voice echo through the fashion world for the first time. Now, she presents her latest body of work, 'twerking music', a melodic femcel memoir written throughout her teenage years that lays bare her fears, vulnerabilities, and coming-of-age experiences. Raised in Belgium, Dragot developed a distinctive artistic sensibility shaped by a childhood immersed in music and the arts. Inspired by artists such as Björk and Duke Ellington, she blends Belgium's rich creative spirit with elements of her Albanian heritage to create a sound that feels both intimate and unconventional.

'twerking music' is her first body of work made entirely on her own terms: seven tracks, all self-written, released through cloudshaper. The title is a deliberate misdirection. The songs deal with crushes, desire and longing, the inner child, body image, digital obsession and the absurdity of late capitalism. Piano is the foundation, with classical training and jazz sitting under electronics that glitch and strings that stay with you after the song ends. It is emotionally charged art pop that moves between the melodic and the experimental: sometimes intimate and fragile, sometimes dark, erratic, and just a touch unhinged.

She arrived there after several years of writing inside other people's worlds, including film soundtrack work and features across the Belgian scene. 'twerking music' is where she stopped adapting to other rooms and started building outward from her own writing, which is why it sounds nothing like what came before it.
