About Sad Whisperings
Starting early nineties as Desecrate, the band played death metal with some doom influences. In 1992 the name was changed to, the more suiting, Sad Whisperings, after the change in musical direction to atmospheric doom/death metal heavily influenced by the greats like My Dying Bride, Anathema and Paradise Lost.
The first demo was recorded which landed them a record deal with Dutch label Foundation 2000 ( Gorefest,The Gathering.)resulting in the full length CD ‘Sensitive to Autumn’ in 1993.
In 1995 and 1998 2 promos were recorded and there were some line-up changes. In 1999 the band went on hiatus, when Alexander moved to Argentina, where he teamed up with Mental Distortion.( With Lars Rosenberg ex Entombed)
After Alex’s return from Argentina in 2002, the was reformed with a fresh line-up and recorded their last promo so far in 2003. In 2005 Sad Whisperings was discontinued.
Come 2022 VIC Records showed interrest in re-issueing “Sensitive to Autumn’. This led tot he reformation of the band and a year later the re-issue of ‘Sensitive...’was released and the band performed for the first time in almost 20 years on the ‘Dutch Doom Days’ in Baroeg, Rotterdam. Also the same year VIC Records released ‘Return to Autumn’, comprising the ’95 and ’98 promo’s.
Sad Whisperings also got a Chapter in the book: ,,Streams of Ancient Wisdom” written by Rocktribune journalist: Steve Willems.
Currently the band is working on material for a new album and ready to do shows and have a good time!
