MOMSNAME

MOMSNAME is an Indie rock band based in Groningen. What once started as a solo project by singer and guitarist Esmee has grown into a full band. Together with bassist Sander and brothers Joep and Luuk they put on an intimate yet dynamic live show.
The serene vocals are complemented by a dreamy and melancholic sound with a psychedelic touch. These components take you to a soft, comforting but sometimes sad place. Vulnerability is a power you should use. To heal, you should let even the darkest parts of yourself be.

Their debut EP Blossom is a coming of age story that discusses topics such as love, drugs and depression. The lyrics are raw, honest and metaphorical.
On earth overshoot day 2024 they released ‘Peace of Mind’: an honest work about enviromental anxiety and the anger that can come with this.
In 2023 and 2024 MOMSNAME focussed on combining film and music in an interdisciplinary performance called ‘The Waves’. With The Waves, MOMSNAME wants to encourage their audience to allow themselfs to feel their dark emotions and to sometimes press pause in our overly rushed society.
With this project MOMSNAME has played at places such as ESNS, Neushoorn Iduna and Simmerdeis. The first single for this project comes out in September 2024 and the EP will follow in the autumn.
