About Skip Waiters
“Growing up, music that resonated with me the most were the songs that made me feel something... Good or bad, it evoked an emotion in me that reminded me I was still alive and I think that is something that’s needed in a world that’s prone to numbness.”
Born in Toronto but raised in the suburbs of Brampton, Skip Waiters found his joy in being able to create music that is a reflection of his experiences growing up in the inner city. Looking to find his own individuality, Skip Waiters taught himself how to produce, write and eventually create his own sound through his love of visual arts and storytelling throughout his music. With a unique sound, Skip Waiters has been described as a blend of artists such as Kendrick Lamar, J.I.D & Anderson Paak with his wide range of flows; Tyler the creator, with his unorthodox production ability, as well as Pharrell’s genre fusion approach to making music. Continuing to develop as a producer, Skip Waiters has scored projects for creatives such as 4YallEnt and By Pseudonym that have been featured in i-D Magazine; he now begins his journey as an artist. Releasing two demo tracks in 2019, followed by another demo track released in 2020.
