About Tony Fulgham
Tony Fulgham writes songs that walk a fuzzy line between fact and fiction; a 60/40 mix of truth and lies and he’s not giving up which is which. With the demise of his previous band, Jackrabbit, he stepped away from singing, taking a walk-about style hiatus that lasted until late 2019. It was then that he cautiously began writing and singing again. However, in August 2020, a discovery of some nasty cells on his right vocal cord led to six throat surgeries and an extended period of silence—a silence that Fulgham found maddening. Yet, despite the uncertainty of his recovery, he decided to stop waiting and began writing once more. A turning point came when he performed three songs at a John Prine tribute show, which reignited his passion for music and led him to create new songs, record a new album, and form a new band. While his music still carries the twang, rock, heartbreak, and redemption he’s known for, there's now an added existential twist, even a hopeful one—you can blame it on the mushrooms. The joy of making music again is indescribable for Fulgham, especially since he’s surrounded by a talented band that includes Tim DiJulio and Rebecca Young from North Twin, and Aimee Zoe, with occasional contributions from Moe Provencer, both from Jackrabbit. He considers himself a lucky man to be playing alongside them again.
