Jorj Sabio

Born and reared in Brighton’s greenbelt outskirts, Jorj Sabio fashioned a path into music after moving to London and connecting with the city that his family originally called home. Here he found a community of like-minded creatives with whom he finessed his songwriting and producing skills as well as taking London’s vibrant live scene by storm as part of South-London collective, Gravy River.

Drawing inspiration from various folk music traditions, Jorj Sabio has crafted his own unique brand of Alternative R&B, underpinned by the Jazz ideologies that originally drew him into the art of music-making. Following his first two singles, ‘Premonitions’ with Graver (2022), and ‘Bed’ (2023), Jorj launched a new era of music in March with his eponymously titled, ‘SABIO’, followed up by 'THE SPRINGS', both from their upcoming debut album, ODJI SPRINGS.

Jorj’s latest single, ‘THE PLANE’, sees him reunite with Graver on an anthemic R&B track that elevates their sound to new heights. Blending aspects of Pop and Neo-Soul, the song shifts between reflective verses and the song’s uplifting chorus, that in it’s second refrain builds to an explosive, climax of positive affirmation.

Beyond the music, Jorj is a passionate campaigner for greater diversity in music and fair treatment of music creators. In March 2023, they were inducted onto the board of the Ivors Academy, an organisation renowned for championing the music-creator community and presenting the prestigious Ivor Novello Awards.
