Teis Semey

The "bad boy of Dutch Jazz", guitarist Teis Semey (DK) has quickly made a name for himself in the last few years. If with the punk-infused avant garde of the Teis Semey Quintet, the choral folky Midnight Mess or the electro/acoustic Raw Fish, his storm-in-with-guns-blazing attitude to music has earned him his spot as one of the most important young up-coming names in the European jazz scene in 2026.

The “rising star” (NRC) has four albums behind him, and there is no sign of stopping. This year he released Midnight Mess vol 1, and he is working on releasing his debut with Raw Fish and a fourth album with the Quintet.

The Danish country boy turned street-punker turned jazz musician is out for the kill, and always hungry for music.

Teis Semey is a powerful and lyrical artist, “charmingly nonchalant”.
His “... playing grabs you by the shoulders, and screams a story into your face. But a story with depth and nuance" - Jazzism.
