About Cerae
Cerae is a 21 year old singer-songwriter from Toronto, Canada. Drawing from her experiences as a young woman of Caribbean and Asian descent, Cerae aspires to cross the boundaries between the genres of R&B, neo-soul, gospel, pop and funk to create relevant messages that portray the human experience.
In July 2022, Cerae was honored with the opportunity to open for Swedish R&B superstar, Cherrie, in her headlining show in London, England. This was subsequently followed by Cerae’s first radio play on DJ Ace’s show, 1Xtra on the BBC network. Later that summer, Cerae lent her vocals to Alicia Keys’ show in Toronto as she sang with the choir, Music 4 Life, in a gospel rendition of the classic tune, Fallin’. To conclude the year, Cerae collaborated once more with the Music 4 Life choir during dvsn’s Amazon Prime Christmas special.
