Donnatellus

Rock outfit Donnatellus is inspireed by the golden age of classic rock, evoking the adventurous spirit of bands like The Who, Jefferson Airplane, and Rush. Infused with elements of early heavy metal, the band blends these influences into a sound that feels both familiar and entirely their own. Their dynamic songs combine creative arrangements, unforgettable melodies, and a commanding vocal presence that leaves a lasting impact.

The band formed in 2020, as founder Johan wanted to bring some of his songs to life. He gathered long-time friends Sebastian, Jakob, and Mattias from the local music scene. After six months of collaboration, they had crafted their debut album, Ancient Eye. While Johan initially took on lead vocals, he felt the songs demanded a voice that could truly elevate the music, so the album release plan was put on hold.

In 2022, Emelie joined the group, completing Donnatellus’ lineup and vision. With her rich vocal presence she delivered the vocals the songs deserved. The band finalized Ancient Eye, which was released in August 2023 to critical acclaim. As Sweden Rock Magazine wrote:
"Donnatellus manages the feat of being peculiar, completely fresh, and totally retro all at once."

As Donnatellus looks ahead to their second album, they’ve further expanded their sonic palette, adding an exceptional organ player to the lineup, Jacob. This new dimension promises to enrich their evolving sound, bringing their musical vision fully to life.
