About Bridget Yee

Malaysian pianist Bridget Yee is the winner of numerous international piano competitions, including the Windsor International Piano Competition and the Beecham International Piano Competition, where she also earned the esteemed Best Overall Competitor Prize.

In 2020, Bridget won the Putra International Piano Competition with her performance of Ravel’s Concerto in G major. She also emerged as one of the top five pianists in the United Kingdom at the BBC Young Musician Keyboard Category Finals that same year, which was televised on BBC. Bridget has performed in Japan, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, and Malaysia, among others.

In 2023, she was honored as the year’s 'Successful Sarawakian from Overseas' by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry & Performing Arts Sarawak at the Sarawak International Festival of Music and Arts.

Bridget received a full scholarship to Wells Cathedral School at the age of 11, studying under the guidance of Hilary Coates. Currently pursuing her second year of undergraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music on a Suresh and Richard McMillan full scholarship under Christopher Elton, she is generously supported by the Hattori Foundation and is an artist of Talented Unlimited Foundation. At 17, Bridget was awarded a Fellowship Diploma from Trinity College London. She has received mentorship from Stephen Hough, Imogen Cooper, Barry Douglas, and Vovka Ashkenazy. Additionally, Bridget is a recipient of The Ann Burridge Award and The Richard Toeman Award from the organization Awards for Young Musicians.

She is currently an Art Mentor Scholar of the Riot Ensemble and has been appointed Polonsky Foundation Fellow for this year's Aspen Music Festival and School in America. Most recently, Bridget was awarded the Kerr Memorial Prize by the Royal Over-Seas League. Her future endeavors include recording a new duo concerto at Deutschlandfunk Cologne in 2025.
