The Berlin-based musician, model, dancer, art director and LGBTQ+ & POC ambassador is looking at an impressive career so far, ticking an ANCHOR AWARD nomination (Reeperbahn Festival 2021), SXSW, Fusion and Reeperbahn showcases, support slots for Milky Chance, Giant Rooks, ÄTNA and Raphael Saadique as well as brand collabs with Paco Rabanne, Don Perignon & Tommy Hilfiger, an NMA Hotlist 2022 listing and the recent nomination as “Favorite Artist” at Preis für Popkultur 2023 of the list. Lie Ning deftly moves between the genres of indie, soul and R'n'B, creating moments of timeless pop and emotionally powerful images of dreamy expanse and bitterly serious shape. Their highly acclaimed debut album "utopia", produced by Grammy winner Stephen Fitzmaurice (known for his work with Sam Smith, Alicia Keys and Mary J Blige), was released in April 2024 and made him a Spotify RADAR and GLOW artist. Their first headline tour was sold-out in Berlin and Hamburg and he gathered huge crowds at festival appearances at Fusion, Haldern Pop and Appletree Garden. The press response was equally overwhelming: the respected music magazine Musikexpress called them the "artist of the hour", while Vogue celebrated them as "their new favorite artist from Berlin".
