Sequoia

Sequoia is a songwriter living in Richmond, Virginia. Primarily raised in Vermont, with its nice colored leaves and pretty rivers, New England will always be part of him. Having a spread out family has meant living in several places along the East Coast throughout his childhood. Eventually, he moved to Los Angeles, and took a deeper interest in American Folk, Blues, and Country music. Until recently Sequoia lived in Portland, Oregon, where he’d fallen into a vibrant community of songwriters, and performed frequently for drink tickets and pool table quarters. His music is influenced by a transient life, and exposure to the vast American landscape in an exploration of melancholy, anxiety, and hopefulness.
