About Kidd Reece & Mo'Live Zydeco
Self-taught accordionist, Maurice "Kidd Reece" Johnson, grew up trail riding along the Texas/Louisiana border. At an early age he was influenced by great Southern music styles including Zydeco, Blues & Country. In 1999, he developed a passion for playing the accordion. A couple of years later, with help from a close friend, Kidd Reece & Mo'Live Zydeco was formed.
With a high-energy live show and a growing fanbase, Kidd Reece continues to grow his name in and around southeast Texas. His band masterfully blends Zydeco with other southern music genres, plus R&B for a sound that's uniquely Louisiana, yet universally appealing. From the rhythmic pulse of the rubboard to the soulful blues melodies, his band offers a vibrant party atmosphere that transcends cultural boundaries and gets everyone on their feet.
