Personal vulnerability and souvenirs seized from across genres yield the unique hyperpop of Vienna-based artist ANTHEA. Their soundscapes transgress what they are proudly rooted in: artpop, noise, hardcore, screamo. ANTHEA‘s works, which always seek to process some inner conflict, are inevitably engraved by the artist‘s personal history and non-binary identity. Infused with metaphorical language and rare visual sensibility, ANTHEA‘s creations mirror the fantastical works they used to produce as a visual artist. It almost seems that the more future-orientation is exhibited on the surface which we hear, the more melancholy transfuses through the beneath which we feel.
