About Nireus

Nireus is violist / researcher T. Clara Takarabe @bergamotclara and composer / synthesist / multi-instrumentalist H. Anton Riehl

Nireus’s broad musical style is influenced by their shared history in classical music, with deep ties to electronic and experimental music. You can hear influences from Palestrina to Shostakovich, Penderecki to Tan Dun, or the music of the medieval Andalusia running through their cinematic expressions.

Violist T. Clara Takarabe plays with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. In her symphonic career, Clara has performed and toured throughout the United States and around the world under the batons of Riccardo Muti, Pierre Boulez, Daniel Barenboim, Bernard Haitink, Gustavo Dudamel, Zubin Mehta and many others. She has a long recording history in classical, rock, jazz, rhythm and blues, experimental music as well as TV and movie scores.

She is the philosopher-in-residence at the Festival de música de Santa Catarina in Brazil where she presents an annual public lecture series on music and philosophy. As a philosopher, she practices philosophy at the intersection of art theory, labor theory and public sphere theory.

H. Anton Riehl is a classically trained composer, multi-instrumentalist, and an active performer as a modular synthesist.

His work spans film, TV, video games, and commercials. As a composer and arranger, he writes for symphonic orchestras as well as intimate chamber ensembles, and specializes in blending acoustic and electronic voices. Riehl has collaborated with Danger Mouse, Karen O, Mike Patton, Daniele Luppi, Úyanga Bold, and many more.

Most recently, Riehl worked on the CBS show Blood and Treasure and the video games Receiver II and Overgrowth.
