About Ovy on The Drums

Ovy on The Drums
Ovy on The Drums
Ovy On The Drums (Daniel Echavarría Oviedo, Medellín, 1991) is a Grammy and multiple Latin Grammy-winning Colombian producer, songwriter, and artist, widely recognized as one of the architects of the modern Latin urban sound. He is Cofounder of Big Ligas, his record label and creative house operating out of Medellín and Miami, and currently sits among the most streamed and most decorated Latin producers in the world.
Ovy's catalog as a producer is the spine of an era. He produced KAROL G's global #1 "Tusa" ft. Nicki Minaj — the first Latin track by a female artist to spend 25 weeks at #1 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart — along with "Bichota," "Provenza," "Cairo," "Mamiii" (with Becky G), and "TQG" with Shakira. His work on Karol G's Mañana Será Bonito made history as the first all-Spanish-language album by a female artist to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200, and earned Ovy the Latin Grammy for Album of the Year and the Grammy Award for Best Música Urbana Album. He has been nominated for the Latin Grammy eight times across categories including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Urban Song, and has held the #1 position on Billboard's Latin Producers chart for over 25 nonconsecutive weeks — the third-longest reign in the chart's.
Beyond his Karol G catalog, Ovy produced "Ahora Me Llama (Remix)" ft. Bad Bunny and the Quavo version, "Mala" ft. Anuel AA on 6IX9INE's Dummy Boy album, and "Te Vi" for Piso 21 ft. Micro TDH. He served as executive producer of Paulo Londra's debut album Homerun — which crossed 1 billion streams in its first two weeks — including the hits "Adán y Eva," "Dímelo," "Condenado Para El Millón," "Nena Maldición," and "Chica Paranormal." His production credits also extend to Beéle Becky G, Maluma, Yandel, Bryant Myers, Mike Bahía, Tini, Mau & Ricky, Myke Towers, Ed Sheeran, Quevedo, Sech, Ryan Castro, Blessd, and Beéle.
W Sound — the platform. In 2024, Ovy launched W Sound in partnership with Colombian content creator and cultural force Westcol — a recurring session-based series in Music Sessions, built to fuse established stars with emergent talent over Ovy's signature productions. The series has become a cultural phenomenon across the Spanish-speaking world. Standout entries include "Soltera" (W Sound 01) with Blessd, "SQ" (W Sound 04) with Ryan Castro, "La Plena" (W Sound 05) with Beéle — one of the highest-streaming reggaetón tracks of 2025 — (W Sound 08) with Westcol and Kris R. — which spent many consecutive days at #1 on Spotify Colombia Daily.
As an artist. Ovy made his crossover from producer to performing artist with the EP Cassette 01 alongside Myke Towers, featuring "Amor Narcótico," "Desataaa" with Saiko, and "Godiva" with Blessd and Ryan Castro. His solo catalog includes "Inolvidable" with Beéle, "Sigo Buscándote" with Mau & Ricky, "Ya No Me Llames" with Tini, the global hit "Miedito o Qué?" with Karol G and Danny Ocean, and "Angelito" with Beéle and Bad Milk. Recent releases include "AMISTAD," "YO y TÚ," "COMO OREO," "Pórtate Bonito," and "El Mejor Hombre Del Mundo" (2026).
Ovy is the founder and creative head of Big Ligas, and continues to expand the platform as a development engine for the next generation of Latin urban music. He is widely regarded as one of the producers who redefined what reggaetón and latin unban sounds like in the global pop era.
