Matt Barr

Matt Barr, born in Payson, AZ, discovered his love for music at 8 when he picked up his grandfather's 1942 Gibson guitar. Despite growing up in a family of athletes, his passion for music was fueled by his father's drumming in church. By 10, he was writing songs and winning talent shows.
After graduating from Payson High School, Matt pursued music in San Diego and later Maui. A family tragedy brought him back to the mainland, leading to a decade in the oilfields. When his business collapsed during the pandemic, he returned to his true passion — music.
A chance meeting with songwriter Brandon Howard changed everything. Matt joined Brandon's band, becoming lead guitarist and co-writer. Though not in the same band now, they continue to collaborate under the same record label at Broken Road Productions. Matt thrives today in his element, fully immersed in making music.
