About Fine (UK)

Named as one of BBC Introducing’s tips for 2024’ | Archie Whincup, Emily Pilbeam and Christian Carlisle - BBC Introducing

FINE is an exploration of relations between guitar music and downtempo electronica. From his first solo recordings made during lockdown, Fin Vallance has created an sonic identity as FINE that exists comfortably between club ready bangers and intricate home listening.

Superior production and musicianship, grounded in the sampled sounds of everyday life and a homespun Yorkshire authenticity. FINE’s two EP releases – supported with funding through Music Local’s Launchpad programme and Help Musicians - have garnered support from BBC Introducing and Rinse FM, and helped him develop a live show that encapsulates musical gifts and tech wizardry. One of BBC Introducing’s ‘Tips for 2024’, FINE’s debut album is sure to be one of the most eclectic and immersive debuts of the year.

Prior to 2024, Fine has been labelled ‘A total joy to listen to’ by Emily Pilbeam - BBC Introducing, ‘very uplifting’ by Toby Taylor – Melodic Distraction and ‘Beautiful’ by Josh Aitman on The Wake-Up Show. These positive reviews have helped to secure slots supporting Infinite Bisous at Belgrave Music Hall, Leeds Jazz Festival alongside Yarni and ReadyMeal Collective and more recently supporting Will Samson for their latest album release ‘Harp Swells’ which has been described by Clash Magazine as ‘a beautiful album that adds another layer to an already interesting artist’.

In 2023 Fine completed their first sold-out headline mini tour to celebrate the release of their second EP at Hyde Park Bookclub in Leeds and Kazimier Stockroom in Liverpool. This EP featured collaborations musically with Elia Tomé and artistically with Leeds based creatives: Videographers and Editors Paul Asquith and Omair Hamza (DuckDuckMooseProductions), A/V Artist Erin Vallance and Dancer Kate Howden to create a breathtaking debut music video.
