About Cédric Monnier

Cédric Monnier is a swiss piano player with french roots
He recorded his piano compositions in a remote estate in Brittany near the untamed Atlantic coast. In the process, fragile, sensual piano pieces were created, meandering between somnambulistic, cinematic scenery and gentle, natural pureness. Sometimes the compositions follow a stringent structure, whilst at other times improvising passages open up, but always the interweaving melodies, harmonies and rhythms captivate with their childlike, touching playfulness.
Inspired by Frédéric Chopin and Erik Satie, his neoclassical solo piano compositions are reminiscent of many contemporary artists such as Ludovico Einaudi, Yann Tiersen, Philip Glass, Max Richter and Ólafur Arnalds.
The album «Mélodies d’un film perdu» was co-produced by Tobias Jundt and its first single «Paris Danse» appears in the movie soundtrack «Divine / Der Göttliche Andere» (Warner Bros).
In 2023 Schiller and Cédric Monnier wrote the song Arc Céleste which is to be found on Schiller’s new album «Illuminate» (No 1 album charts Germany). They performed it together on the Schiller Arena Tour 2023 through Germany.
