About Continuum XXI
Continuum XXI combines contemporary repertoire with Early Music in its concerts, and it has premiered pieces of different aesthetics and formats (electronics, video, poetry, improvisation), as well as works originally written for historical instruments by composers such as Peter Ablinger, Raphaël Cendo, José M. Sánchez-Verdú, Alberto Bernal, Helga Arias, Sergio Blardony, Manuel J. Sánchez or Sandra Lanuza.
Since 2018, Continuum XXI has been part of the “Contemporary Music Support Program” of the Deutscher Musikrat, as a young and innovative initiative. Moreover, it has won the Cesar-Etopia Labs 2020 residency. It also collaborates with artists from other disciplines, such as AuditivVokal Dresden, the theatre collective "theatrale subversion", the Staatsballet Berlin dancer Pablo González or the poets Pilar Martín Gila, Ferdinand van Vasconcij and the philosopher Dr. Friedrich Hausen.
The ensemble has performed in important festivals and concert halls, such as Hellerau Dresden, After Cage, OUT-SIDE, Zentralwerk Dresden, Kühlhaus Berlin, Uni Graz, SLUB Dresden, Festival COMA, Guggenheim Museum, Musikagileak, Festival Sintese, Teatros del Canal, Sociedad Filarmónica de Burgos, etc. It has been supported by important European institutions, such as Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung, Musikfonds, Deutscher Musikrat or Kulturstiftung des Freistaats Sachsen, among others. Continuum XXI is a member of KlangNetz Dresden since 2023.
