About no ordinary fish

NO ORDINARY FISH is an Exeter-based 4-piece original pop/rock band.

Our songs are catchy and eclectic with rich melodies, boy/girl harmony vocals and are inspired by quality 70s/90s bands like Fleetwood Mac, Crowded House and Blur. The 1st album was more laid back/Americana, the 2nd more punchy and upbeat. The styles of our songs range widely and some include Americana, Shoegaze, blues, folk, power-pop, classic rock and 80s Indie. Two of the most popular songs on the new album are the breezy, insistent and wistful “Summer Song” (Spotify link: tinyurl.com/3ynwadpk; over 1000 monthly listeners) and the 90’s “peak Indie” sound of “Back to ‘91” (http://tinyurl.com/mtnjp69h )
Our Unique Selling Point, other than the strength of the songs, is that we are not exactly teenagers, and how many singing drummers do you know with MS?!

The band has played several local festivals and charity events over the last 3 years and in Oct 2023 released our 2nd album “Adverse Camber” via a brilliant live gig at Exeter Phoenix. We are also getting frequent radio plays, live interviews and glowing album/song reviews:

“…they’ve honed a sound that’s both cohesive and unique” https://www.theindiegrid.co.uk
“.. effortlessly captures the spirit of the past while infusing it with a fresh, contemporary perspective … meticulous attention to detail in each track, from the thoughtful bass lines to the carefully textured guitar tones, makes this album a nostalgic yet contemporary masterpiece … an authentic and soulful album, delivering a musical experience that transcends time, appealing to both old and new generations of music lovers.”www.lessthan1000followers.com
“The writing is not only strong but also deeply introspective, as the band members explore life, love, and the world around them.” https://www.wewriteaboutmusic.com
“The album forms a graceful harmony that shimmers in the indie-rock space. It’s hard, fast, fun and full of character” www.tjplnews.com
