About The Worm Turns

Meanjin band, The Worm Turns, delivers an intoxicating sound, capturing the heartache and depth of humanity, with heartfelt, meaty melodics, rhythm and lyrics. The band has received much airplay on Radio 4ZZZ, with singles in the 4ZZZ Top 20 for thirteen consecutive weeks, and the album, The Unbreakable Bond, reaching number one in the same charts, followed by the debut single 'They'll Take You Out and Thrive' coming in at #40 on the 2023 4ZZZ Hot 100. The close-knit lineup includes music legends Michelle Bowden: lead guitar/cello (Batswing Saloon, Gravelrash, Koko Uzi, Chopper Division, Cross Town Collective) Cam Ricketts: drums (IIWII, FAT, Blowhard, AIM, God’s Own Bullet) Ced Ingra: bass (Chopper Division, Cross Town Collective, The Dates, Hateman) Kate McCarthy: vocals/rhythm guitar; all living on Quandamooka and Jagera/Yagera Country. The Worm Turns acknowledge the ancient and ongoing connections to lands, seas, waterways, skies, birds and animals of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We pay respect to all Elders past and present for they hold the lore and stories of their cultures. Sovereignty was never ceded.
