About Thunder Queens

Thunder Queens
Thunder Queens are a London, ON teen rock trio who have spent seven years growing up inside the band. Formed in 2019 by childhood friends Violet Bruneel, Lola Good, and Clara Magnan, their writing is heavy, emotionally direct, and built around pedal-heavy guitar hooks, full-force drumming, melodic bass, and soaring harmonies.
With their first releases, Thunder Queens were just kids making loud songs they wanted to play live in the community they grew up in. The path from their 2020 self-titled EP to their 2024 debut LP Strike One traces the band’s growing confidence, deepening friendship, and their relentless dedication to mastering their craft.
Their 2025 singles “Teenage Years” and “Birds on a Wire” opened the door to more emotionally expansive songwriting. Now 16 and 17, Thunder Queens have worked with Grammy-winning producer and engineer Dave Schiffman (Smashing Pumpkins, PUP) on their next LP Deep Below, due out September 2026. Built from years of saved voice memos, riffs, and introspective, sometimes heart-wrenching lyrics, the record leans heavier, with a strong melodic centre and more ambitious vocals, and unexpected arrangements that reward repeat listens.
Thunder Queens have shared stages with The Beaches, Billy Talent, Frank Turner, Death Valley Girls, The Violent Femmes, The Dirty Nil, and Daniel Romano, with festival appearances including POP Montreal, Sled Island, SuperCrawl, PouzzaFest, Up Here Festival, and Punk Rock Flea Fest. This summer the trio supported Death From Above 1979 at Ottawa Bluesfest.
