About KIND OF DUSK
KIND OF DUSK captures a state of transformation. From the tangible to the abstract. Acoustic to electronic. Forming neoclassical movements into avantgarde sound spheres.
The project by Berlin-based producer and multiinstrumentalist Lukas Streich creates organic collages out of intimate piano sounds, innovative production approaches, and folk-inspired melodies. The processed felt piano feels like the fondation of the compositions. Around this focus point KIND OF DUSK builds hybrid arrangements of electronic and acoustic elements - vocals, choirs, strings, modular sounds, arpeggiators and always the same subtile subbass.
Ólafur Arnalds and JFDR, Hania Rani and Dobrawa Czocher, Tara Nome Doyle and Federico Albanese - the crossing from neoclassical, electronic, and emotional vocals is an immensely stirring place. There, a KIND OF DUSK moves and weaves these elements into an own style, with it’s own voice - radical, vulnerable, and breathing.
It’s a musical and lyrical confrontation with the self in a congealing society. A wavering between the new and the familiar, alienation and connection. Navigating the transitions between generations and times, breaking free from established patterns, and creating new structures, constructs, compositions. In search of transformation.
