About nomi
What happens when you blend classical music education and genre-bending defiance? You get nomi. Born in Poland and raised in the US, nomi’s musical foundation developed over 9 years of classical and jazz saxophone training. But, from their very first rave, nomi knew they belonged in the EDM world. From that moment on, nomi absorbed everything they could about music production (and spent all their government stimulus checks on production equipment). From the Polish forests to the streets in LA, nomi drew inspiration from everywhere. Fast-forward to May 2022, and they launched their debut track - an airy, euphoric remix of “You” by Raven Gray.
As they ascended from saxophonist to drum and bass producer, nomi undertook another transformation: feeling at home in their body. As a nonbinary person, nomi developed a profound appreciation for feeling connected to one’s own body. It’s no coincidence, then, that their music engages the body as much as the mind; hence, danceable baselines blend with vibrant vocals to form a full-body experience. More than a sound, nomi delivers a sensory and spiritual adventure. Inspired by artists like Synergy, Peekaboo, Blanke, and Rawtekk, nomi’s take on drum and bass is remarkably human, yet undeniably from another realm. From ethereal intros to high-energy drums and gritty drops, every nomi song is a journey of its own - a journey out of the ordinary and into the surreal.
