About The New Quintet
Honoring the styles that have shaped our country from Traditional Folk to Ragtime, Old-Time and Early Country, The New Quintet features storyteller and musicologist Nicholas Edward Williams (Guitar, Vocals), Emma Dubose (Fiddle, Vocals), Jade Watts (Upright Bass, Vocals), Gordon Inman (Clarinet) and Cody Ray (Guitar, Lap Steel). The ensemble dynamically weaves big harmonies, ancient melodies and lush textures on a fabric of both original and reimagined traditional material with an old-timey flair. Since forming in 2020 The New Quintet has been on festival stages, concert series bills, listening rooms and theaters throughout the Southeast, and are scheduled to release their first full-length record in 2024.
