About YOYOKA
YOYOKA, a 14-year-old drummer, has been playing the drum since she was 1 year old.
Born and raised in Hokkaido, Japan, she started performing live at the age of 4 and formed a band with her family when she was 5. YOYOKA gained international recognition when she won the 2018 “Hit Like a Girl”, female drum contests in the world, where she covered Led Zeppelin’s “Good Times Bad Times” at the age of 8, becoming the youngest ever to win the weekly championship. She has received admiration from notable figures such as Robert Plant, Tom Morello, Chad Smith, and David Grohl.
She is also the youngest drummer in history to be selected as one of the “World’s Top 500 Drummers” by Drummerworld and has since performed with world renowned drummers and artists including Fall Out Boy, Cyndi Lauper, Ian Paice and Jack Black. She has appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show twice.
At the age of 8, she signed endorsement deals with Pearl, Zildjian, VIC FIRTH and others and participated in the recording of 18 songs for the famous video game Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series.
Additionally, She has been chosen for worldwide commercial campaigns by brands like Nike, Moncler, and UNIQLO.
In September 2022, YOYOKA moved to the US with her family to pursue her passion for drumming and love of music. Early in her arrival in the United States, she attended the Oakland School for the Arts, where she learned English, took advanced music classes, and explored different genres of music.
At the end of June 2023, she moved to Los Angeles to begin her musical endeavors.
