Luca Firth

Luca Firth is a 22-year-old artist making Alternative Folk. Inspired by the likes of Justin Vernon, Phil Elverum, Fionn Regan, Adrianne Lenker and Sharon Van Etten. Luca has a biotic approach to creating music, that prospers, through improvisation and minimal resources and equipment, into the carving out of individual tracks and, eventually whole albums.

The lockdown of 2020 enabled the time and space to hone this process. Luca found himself living in a garage on a farm in central Italy, crafting songs and building an album fortuitously and necessarily DIY. Using only a microphone, a laptop, a couple of guitars and often recording as writing. Using furniture as makeshift instruments to conjure percussive soundscapes, Luca began to discover his voice and his sound. A Year of Grace was released in November 2021.

Since then, Luca has spent his time playing acoustic shows around the UK’s South-West, headlining shows between Exeter and London, and supporting bands such as The Wandering Hearts and The Howl & The Hum on their UK tours. Also appearing at numerous Sofar Sounds.

Luca has challenged himself to step up his game sonically in the creation of his second album. In May 2023, Luca took a near-finished album to Brooklyn, NY to work with the esteemed producer Oli Deakin/Lowpines (CMAT, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, The Wandering Hearts and Elanor Moss). With a guiding hand in production, the second album was finished.

Luca has also ventured into the filmmaking world with some soundtrack work for independent short films.
