About Parker Kay
Born and raised in Vancouver Island, Canada he was inspired by Pop and R&B legends Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and Bill Withers. At age six he began writing and by age twelve he had picked up the guitar and was a finalist on the Canadian reality TV show, The Next Star and The Next Star: SuperGroup by age fourteen, launching him into his music career.
He started producing his own music in his early-20’s and has become a one-stop shop for writing, recording and producing. Working with world-class songwriting and producers who have written for artists including Sam Smith and The Weeknd has helped him elevate his sound and develop his own unique style. Since moving to Los Angeles to pursue music full time he’s worked to perfect his sound, a fresh take on pop, infused with retro R&B that is catchy yet powerful.
