About The Pan-Tones

At its inception, The Pan-Tones combined the powerful, yet refined sound of an orchestral flute section with the rhythm and style of pan flute music from Peru and Bolivia. The group embraces the sound of the Andean quena and zampoña flutes, as well as the Romanian nai.

These multi-instrumentalists also perform exciting versions of some of the most beloved music from Mexico, Brazil, Italy, Japan, and the U.S.A. Deep respect for all cultures is apparent in their work; still, playful irreverence for convention endears them to inquisitive souls.

Prepare to be surprised at a performance. The Pan-Tones exemplify the diversity and cultural cross-pollination that is ever-present in Texas music. They do opera, they do corridos, and yes, they play jazz standards as cumbias featuring the pedal steel guitar!

The Pan-Tones have experience performing in a wide variety of settings including festival stages, preschool classrooms, and recital halls. They are available for educational and community programs, lecture-performances, and masterclasses.

The Pan-Tones can perform acoustic, partially amplified, or fully electric concerts. The ensemble’s size can vary depending on the client’s needs, with fees adjusted accordingly.
