Matt Xander

ARIA Award seat warmer Matt Xander commenced his solo hip hop career when he didn’t have enough friends to start a band. Since then, he has set out to make a mockery of hip hop and anyone entering his orbit.

Xander’s background includes working as a clown, a rapping kangaroo and a winner of a Sherminator from American Pie look-a-like contest. Matt has worked with The Wiggles, Nikki Webster, Pez, Matt Okine, The Choirboys, Hugo Weaving, those dudes from Cheez TV and …what was the name of that group that won popstars – not the good one with Sophie Monk, the other one?

Released through Sydney Hip Hop Avengers crew Rah! Records, Xander’s new album Hip Hop Up Your Ass sticks it up the proverbial of traditional hip hop, with tracks that will leave you more confused than trying to pronounce the names of Elon Musk’s children.

The album, produced and performed by Cory Blight (Overreactor, Dukes Of Windsor), GhostAttacK (Beyond Dope) and features guests such as B.C., Old Mate Ham, Beat Theory and more, includes song titles such as Karen, Shut Up!, Wargy and Inmates Running The Asylum show that Matt has well and truly Jumped The Shark.

Xander is in the string section blowing a trombone. He is unashamedly hip hop’s oddity, forging his own path. You don’t like it, you can stick hip hop up your ass.
