Turbine (scratchmusic)

"Turbine" emerged from the confluence of aspirations shared by Ben, Tony, and Nico, who hail from France and met in Montreal. Their mutual passion for turntablism and bass music brought them together. Each boasting over a decade of experience as DJs and producers, they share a collective vision that incorporates scratching as an integral component of their live sets. This vision propels them to amalgamate their skills, giving birth to a project that injects a dynamic stage dimension into the realm of electronic music.

The background they gained as sound designers and producers through the We are Leopard project provided the foundation for Tony and Ben. The introduction of Nico, who contributes his stage expertise, marks the commencement of this ambitious new project. Drawing inspiration from both the trailblazers of turntablism who have left their mark on the history of this genre and producers exploring more granular soundscapes, they decide to tread a less-trodden path within these domains. Their aim is to offer an experience that transcends the confines of bass music.

In November 2022, "Turbine" had the opportunity to take part in the global DJ DMC Championships, representing Canada, and managed to secure the 4th place.
