About Brook St
Brook St are an Australiana-folk duo from the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Jason Daniels & Hannah Olivia, both being solo musicians for many years, had a strong friendship based on co-writing and collaboration. This friendship soon turned into a relationship followed by most recently, marriage. As they wrote songs together in this new season, they noticed the group of songs they were writing had their own feel to them and neither fit under his or her solo projects. Thus began ‘Brook St’, an elegant blend of smooth harmonies, story telling and catchy melodies. Taking influence from artists both old and new, such as Wild Rivers, Ocie Elliot, Simon & Garfunkel and The Lumineers.
Joining Tay Oskee for their debut run of shows on his 2023 ‘Let The Fire Burn’ Australian Tour served as the perfect catalyst to start things off, opening every show as well as playing session in Tay’s band. These shows included 8 dates spanned across 1800 kms including locations in QLD, NSW, & VIC.
Soon after they joined Austin Mackay on a run of house shows across NSW & QLD for his 2023 ‘Secret Garden’ tour.
During all of these shows they promoted their first singles ‘Steady Steady’, ‘Rising Sun’, ‘Wanna Come Back’ & their debut EP, ‘I Saw Me Talking’ that released April 18th. Entirely self-produced, Brook St saw these songs begin to make waves on the AMRAP regional charts with ‘Steady Steady’ ranking #3 & ‘Rising Sun’ ranking #5, followed by radio play across the nation. They also scored positions on some great playlists & compilation albums on Spotify & YouTube (alexrainbirdmusic & indiefolkcentral), seeing their streaming numbers for the EP hit over 50,000 in just 3 months.
Future plans for the duo include supporting Tay Oskee once again, this time on his ‘Keepers Of The Morning’ UK/European tour, as well as a support slot for The Dreggs at their upcoming show in Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane.
There next self-produced EP is set to be released before the end of the year, with the first single, ‘Dreaming Of' dropped on Aug 1st.
