Marco Misciagna

Marco Misciagna is an italian violist, violinist and pedagogue. He graduated at the age of 15 in violin and viola at the "N.Piccinni" Conservatory in Bari with full marks and honorable mention and at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome. He performed in the most famous concert halls of Europe such as the Berliner Philarmonie, Essen Philarmonie, Hamburg Laieszahalle, Mannheim Rosengarten, Meistersingerhalle Nurimberg, Prinzeregententheatre Munich, Arriaga Theatre in Bilbao, Musikverein in Wien and in the most prestigious halls of America such as the Balboa Theatre in San Diego, the Fox Tucson Theatre, S.Francis Auditorium in Santa Fe, the C.W.Eiseman Center, the Rudder Theatre, the Empire Theatre in Texas, the American Theatre in Hampton, the Lehman Center and Carnegie Hall of New York and many others. In January 2014 the Belgian Government appointed Marco Misciagna "Highest Repute Artist". He is currently viola Professor at the State Conservatory "N.Rota" in Monopoli and is Honorary Professor of the University of Sousse (Tunisia), the "Estaban Salas" Conservatory of Cuba, the "Pettman Academy of Music" in Auckland (New Zealand), the Yerevan State Conservatory (Armenia), the “S.Rachmaninov” State Conservatory of Tambov and the Far Eastern State Academy of Art in Vladivostok (Russia), as well as Honorary Citizen of the City of Ayvalik (Turkey). He is honorary principal soloist of the Arkhangelsk State Chamber Orchestra, the Camerata Esteban Salas and the Orchestra Sinfonica de Oriente (Cuba). In 2018 he received the Gold Medal for the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Kiev Opera Theatre and he was awarded the title of "Distinguished Visitor" from the City of Santiago de Cuba. He is a member of the European Cultural Parliament and Lieutenant Commissioner of the Volunteer Military Corps of the Italian Red Cross, auxiliary of the Armed Forces, with Decree of the President of the Republic.
