About Jackson Scribner

Jackson Scribner
Jackson Scribner
Raised in rural Melissa, Texas, Jackson Scribner grew up obsessed with music from an early
age. He learned guitar when he was only nine and spent countless hours playing alongside his
Dad and brothers at family gatherings. Being that the virtuosic player is only twenty years old,
that doesn't feel all that long ago. However, Jackson Scribner has matured as an artist and is
now gearing up for his second European tour in two years.
In addition to his impressive live performances, Jackson has recently been in the studio
recording new music that he plans to release early fall of 2023. Building on his instrumental
prowess, he has put lyrics to his skillful compositions, infusing them with a timeless appeal that
has grown even more prodigious.
Embracing his seemingly supernatural knack for music, Jackson's band — a group of musical
veterans vastly more accomplished and nonetheless awestruck — recorded his debut album at
Consolvo Studio in Oak Cliff, Texas. The talented lineup includes Jeff Ryan (drums for St.
Vincent, The War on Drugs, Daniel Johnston) and John Dufilho (bass for The Apples in Stereo,
The Deathray Davies), with engineering by Jerome Brock (Cryptolog). Together, they made a
deliberate decision to let Jackson's songs radiate in their natural state. The collection was mixed
with care by Grammy-winning Stuart Sikes (Loretta Lynn, Cat Power, Phosphorescent, The
Walkmen), resulting in a truly captivating experience.
Jackson's precocity — melodic and poetic — pierces through sparse folk-rock arrangements,
resonating with listeners' hearts. With emotional precision, he roars and rattles out familiar tales
of life's beautifully unspecial moments. Lyrics like "Me and you left when you were sixteen / Hair
so wild when you look at me / Take your wheels across the county line / Thousand miles away
to that downtown diner / Watch you rise..." showcase his ability to capture deep emotions and
convey them through his music.
“Authentic, raw, honest, pure... Scribner is already an A list talent” – American Songwriter
“Jackson Scribner’s Music Needs To Be Heard” — The Dallas Observer
“Simple yet texturally rich folk twang” — Glide Magazine
“Scribner’s songwriting feels honest and true, to himself and where he comes from, telling
stories about coming of age, with all the sweet rebellions and naïve revelations that go along
with it.” – No Depression
