Massachusetts band PWRUP make very ripping ska-punk/ska-core- Brooklyn Vegan
Just Devils releasing on Ska Punk International October 2023.
Starting in early 2018, Western Massachusetts band PWRUP sought to create music they hadn’t heard before. With influences ranging from punk, hardcore, and ska to metal and prog rock, their unique style would include tight vocal harmonies, fast and heavy riffing, dance breakdowns, and melodic horn parts. Their high energy live performances very quickly gained the attention of local and regional music scenes, resulting in shows all over the northeast. The release of their first demo “An Ugly Equal Family” in 2018 would carry them through to the pandemic years, when they began writing and recording their new full length. In early 2023, the band also recorded a cover of “New Romantics” on a Taylor Swift tribute compilation released by A Few Good Records, with proceeds going to Trans Lifeline.
