About Mapped By A Forest

Mapped By A Forest, established in 2023, is a collaborative project from childhood
friends Sam Morris, Brian Philp, and Dave
Bellingam. Their music blends elements of post-punk, shoegaze, and alternative rock, drawing influence from artists such as Frightened Rabbit, Joy Division, and The Cure, alongside The Twilight Sad and The Jesus and Mary Chain.
The band has been recognized for its
evocative and emotionally resonant sound. Hailed by The Herald for their "spine-chilling melancholy," the band's debut EP and subsequent releases have garnered critical acclaim, with two tracks (Dream and Lost In Our Head) featured in The Herald's Top 100 Scottish Songs of 2023.
Their second EP, "Lost In Violet," was
released in August 2024.
