About Cooter & The Coprolites

ROCK FROM THE HEARTLAND OF THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST
Chuck Cosson writes songs from experience, rooted in the richness of American music (and its British interpreters), and reflecting a life lived on both coasts. Rock, punk, rockabilly, Americana, blues, country, soul, all with the worn vintage vibe of comfortable jeans and boots, and the lyrics of an amateur philosopher and theologian.

The first two singles, "Friends Don't Lie" and "Memories" are from the forthcoming album "Goodbye Cougar Mountain." Featuring Pacific Northwest maestros James Howard, Andrew Cloutier, Peter Adams, Tyler Mays, Tor Dietrichson, and Tela Moss, the collection showcases music with depth and variety, but never leaves its roots far behind.

Chuck grew up in a home with a solid mix of lawyerly pragmatism and creative inspiration, learning guitar and piano, and writing unduly profound poetry. Maturation can be hard on the knees and the eyesight, but it's good for art and this first collection reveals that seasoning, as does the insightful banter (and occasional off-color joke) accompanying Chuck's live performances.
