Yasu Cub

Yasu Cub is a shoegaze/slowcore/dream pop band based in Tokyo, with roots in both the U.S. and Japan. After debut album, "Highways" (Jan. 2023) and subsequent EP, "Elevator" (Feb. 2024), they released EP, "Room Without a Ceiling" (Nov. 2024) in partnership with Candlepin Records in Boston, MA.

In the summer of 2023, Yasu Cub went on a national tour across Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto) alongside American indie pop duo, In the Valley Below. In the summer of 2024, singer-songwriter Jacob Oki Ahearn went on a solo acoustic tour across the U.S. (Asheville, LA, Portland) and performed alongside shoegaze/slowcore/dream pop contemporaries, Blue Imagined, trust blinks, Dish, Murida, and Twin Oaks. In late 2024, Yasu Cub co-organized a show in Tokyo with visiting artist LEEVAI from Australia, with Daoud Akira (former guitarist of Kikagau Moyo) headlining the event.

Yasu Cub's music has been featured on editorial playlists by both Spotify and Apple Music. "Bitterness" is currently on "Haze" by Spotify, and "Eve" is currently on "WASABI" by Apple Music Japan.
