About Alta Falls
Melodic hooks, soaring harmonies, and vintage 80s synth and guitar vibes are the defining features of Alta Falls, an indie electro-pop duo from Brisbane / Meajin, Australia.
While the lyrical content is focused on the significant, the sound creates brilliantly danceable earworms. The sort you’d happily sink vodka Red Bulls to at a festival.
Alta Falls, has returned with a new single, a collaboration with rising Connecticut vocalist and producer Michael Mayo.
Having stumbled across the duo’s previous record, ‘Rain’, on a Spotify playlist, Michael felt an irresistible urge to lend his soulful voice and production touches to the track.
As a result, the song underwent a transformative reimagining, culminating in a breathtakingly beautiful and emotionally charged release that delves into the intricate realms of relationships and mental health.
“Michael reached out to us and said he was addicted to our song ‘Rain’, and said he had some ideas for a remix,” explains one-half of the duo, Matthew. “We thought there was no harm in hearing his ideas – we were absolutely floored by what we heard. His voice is otherworldly, and I still get goosebumps every time I hear the second verse and outro”.
Once again, the duo have teamed up with producer Aidan Hogg (G Flip, Jaguar Jonze, Holy Holy) and drummer Sebastian ‘Baz’ Jennings Hingston (Tia Gostelow) for the new single.
‘I Can See Your Face Through The Rain’ serves as the final gem in Alta Falls' highly anticipated sophomore EP, aptly titled ‘Wild Dreams’. The song rounds out the 5-track EP and showcases the duo’s ability to craft infectious and nostalgic-infused pop songs, adorned with retro-inspired landscapes, lush instrumentation, and deeply evocative lyrics.
This new release comes hot on the heels of a successful national tour in late 2022, and the band is thrilled to announce their upcoming home-town show in Brisbane on June 3 at The Loft, West End to celebrate the launch of the EP.
